Exceptional solutions through the Port of Vancouver

Our Vancouver transload facility provides multi-commodity transloading services. Instead of relying on trucks, our facility uses rail for movements between terminals and ports. This helps to reduce traffic congestion in the Vancouver area, providing a lower cost, environmentally friendly strategic advantage.

Vancouver Transload

Our Vancouver Intermodal Facility (VIF) is an innovative, world-class domestic intermodal container terminal located in Pitt Meadows. This facility moves domestic intermodal direct to rail and functions as a Pacific gateway for the international shipments that release from vessels at the four port terminals in the lower mainland. The terminal operates 24/7 and is located near the Port Coquitlam rail yard, making it an ideal location to originate transcontinental intermodal trains. The facility is also co-located with our Automotive Compound and the CP/Maersk Transload Facility which receives service from VIF.

Vancouver is Canada’s primary automotive gateway for Asian imports and one of the largest destination markets. Strategically positioned at one of the automotive industry’s key North American hubs, our Vancouver Automotive Compound has the capacity to meet the growing needs of customers.

CP/Maersk Transload Facility

Elevate your supply chain performance with more predictable costs and a reliable transport plan through our CP/Maersk transload facility. We shuttle your containers from the ocean terminal to select locations in Canada and the United States via rail. This unique integrated logistics solution reduces transit times while eliminating 100,000 truck trips annually from one of the most traffic-congested regions in Canada, lowering C02 emissions by 4,000 tons per year.  

Port Coquitlam Liquids Transload

Conveniently located next to the Coquitlam railyard, CP’s Liquids Transload facility is designed to aid in efficient switching. At nearly five acres in size with outdoor laydown space, the facility consists of two grounded and bonded tracks holding approximately 29 railcars of various liquids including gasoline, jet fuel, ethanol, diesel and iso-octane.

CPT Port Coquitlam receives service 7 days a week and is open 18 hours per day with the ability to operate 24/7 as needed.
